Installation and maintenance of high temperature melt pressure sensors in automotive anti-skid chains
In the extrusion line, the high temperature melt pressure sensor plays an important role in improving the quality of the melt, increasing the safety of the production and protecting the production equipment. At the same time, the high temperature melt pressure sensor is a very sensitive component, and only proper installation and maintenance can make its role fully play. Anti-slip chain price In the extrusion process, some quality standards of the product (such as dimensional accuracy or surface flatness of the part with mineral filler) require optimal control of the extrusion pressure. g The high temperature melt pressure sensor is an important element to achieve this requirement. By installing a melt pressure sensor and a pressure control device at the die inlet connection, it is possible to achieve a more stable yield and at the same time reduce material waste. Melt pressure sensors play an important role in improving melt quality, increasing production safety for anti-slip chain manufacturers as well as protecting production equipment and extending its service life. In addition, measuring the pressure through the filter and melt pump is important to ensure production safety and to optimize the performance of the equipment. If the melt flow into the mold is obstructed, a sensor below the screen alerts the operator. When the sensor upstream of the screen gives an alarm, it indicates that the pressure inside the extruder is too high and may cause excessive wear on the screw. For manufacturers applying melt pumps, the inlet pressure and outlet pressure of the melt needs to be measured to ensure a continuous flow of melt into the die, as any obstructive action may result in damage to the melt pump. The high-temperature melt pressure sensor assembled on an extrusion line can be a single sensor measuring pressure at only one point, or a series of sensors measuring the entire line. The melt pressure sensor is connected to a data logger, an audible alarm device, and a process control system to adjust the extruder's processing parameters. At the same time, pressure sensors are very sensitive components and can be easily damaged if not properly installed and maintained. The following are a few simple methods to help extend the life of the pressure sensor while helping the user to get accurate and reliable measurement results. Correct installation Often damage to high temperature melt pressure sensors is caused by improper installation. If the sensor is forcibly mounted in a hole that is too small or irregularly shaped, there is a risk that the sensor's vibrating membrane will be damaged by impact. Choosing the right tool to machine the mounting hole is beneficial to control the size of the mounting hole. In addition, a proper mounting torque is good for forming a good seal. However, if the mounting torque is too high, it can easily cause the high-temperature melt pressure sensor to slip off. To prevent this phenomenon, an anti-release compound is usually applied to the threaded part of the sensor before it is installed. After applying this compound, it is difficult for the sensor to be moved even if the mounting torque is high. Automotive chains ● Check the size of the mounting hole If the mounting hole is not properly sized, the threaded part of the high-temperature melt pressure sensor will be easily worn during installation. This will not only affect the sealing performance of the device, but also prevent the sensor from fully functioning, and may even create a safety hazard. Only a proper mounting hole can prevent thread wear (thread industry standard 1/2-20UNF2B), and the mounting hole can usually be inspected using a mounting hole gauge to make proper adjustments. Keeping the mounting holes clean Keeping the mounting holes clean and preventing melt clogging is important to ensure proper operation of the machine. Before the extruder is cleaned, all high temperature melt pressure sensors should be removed from the barrel to avoid damage. During sensor removal, melt can flow into the mounting holes and harden, and if this residual melt is not removed, it can cause damage to the top of the high-temperature melt pressure sensor when it is re-installed. The cleaning kit can remove these melt residues. However, the repeated cleaning process may deepen the damage to the high temperature melt pressure sensor caused by the mounting holes.
